Kathmandu: The makers of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Akshara’, slated for release on September (Bhadra) 26, have unveiled its first-look poster, offering audiences an early glimpse into the film’s emotional tone.
The poster features lead actress Nancy Khadka sitting alone beneath a tree on a stone platform with a serious and melancholic expression. Her body language, combined with the barren landscape and leafless trees in the background, symbolizes loneliness, emotional pain, and inner conflict, hinting at the film’s central narrative.
Nancy previously gained recognition for her performance in the blockbuster ’12 Gaun’ and will also appear in Anmol KC’s upcoming film ‘Batulo Jun’. She studied Communication in California, USA, from 2016 to 2020 and was active in the modeling industry during her stay. Crowned Miss Nepal International 2022, she also represented Nepal at an international beauty pageant in Japan.
Directed by Binay Raj Poudel, Akshara features an ensemble cast including Sushil Sitoula, Sushil Pokharel, Pushkar Raut, Srishti Khadka, Uttam KC, Rista Adhikari, Anshu Maharjan, Geeta Adhikari, Birendra Kushwaha, Suman Jyoti Nyaupane (Langri Dada), Nisha Panthi, Srijana Adhikari, Mohan Adhikari, Trilochan Nyaupane, Pradeep Dhulung, Bishwanath Tamang, Rabindra Adhikari, Prajal Dulal, and Nisha Kuikel. Child actors Ronak Khadka and Prisa Dhungana also play key roles.
Presented by Sony Thapa (Dhungana), the film is produced under the Kshit Babu Production House banner by Ugrasen Dhungana and Sugrasen Dhungana. The screenplay and dialogues are co-written by director Poudel and acclaimed writer Abhimanyu Nirabi, while the story is penned by producer Ugrasen Dhungana.
The film’s technical team includes Karnaraj Giri (music), Surendra Rana (lyrics), Ramji Lamichhane (choreography), Shankar Maharjan (action direction), Dipen Basnyat (cinematography), Gautam Raj Khadka (editing), and Renis Phago (color grading). The poster has been designed by Rakesh Dahal, and the nationwide distribution will be handled by National Cine Group Nepal Pvt. Ltd.
