Kathmandu: The makers of ‘Jhinge Dau 2’, scheduled for release on September 18 (Asoj 2), have unveiled the film’s first song, ‘Mahima Aamako’, offering an emotional tribute to mothers while highlighting the growing reality of elderly parents living in old-age homes.
Presented by Kapangadhi Cinema Pvt. Ltd. and Film Crew Nepal Pvt. Ltd., the song features vocals by Pramod Kharel and Manisha Sunar, lyrics by Dr. Krishna Hari Baral, and music composed by Arjun Pokharel.
With heartfelt lyrics and emotional visuals, the song celebrates a mother’s unconditional love and sacrifice while drawing attention to the social issue of parents being left in elderly care homes. According to the production team, the song reflects the emotional core of the film’s storyline.
The music video features special appearances by veteran actors Madan Krishna Shrestha and Mithila Sharma, alongside lead cast members Aryan Sigdel, Hiunwala Gautam, Basundhara Bhusal, and Chaitya Devi Singh.
Directed by Gyanendra Deuja, the film is produced by Sulav Pratik Deuja and Samikshya Deuja. The technical team includes cinematographer Bishnu Ghimire ‘Kalpit’, editor Mitra D. Gurung, composer Arjun Pokharel, choreographer Ramji Lamichhane, and action director Roshan Shrestha.
The production team appears to have invested significant effort in the song’s visual presentation, with Ramji Lamichhane crafting choreography that complements the song’s emotional depth.
The ensemble cast includes Keki Adhikari, Aanchal Sharma, Mahesh Tripathi, Kushal Bista, Aryan Sigdel, Hiunwala Gautam, Saroj Khanal, Basundhara Bhusal, Chaitya Devi Singh, Sangam Bhandari, Bijay Deuja, Anshu Maharjan, Abhay Raj Baral, Uttam KC, Shivhari Bairagi, Aasha Bhusal, Ren Pradhan, Binod Kumar Poudel, Ashish Purush, Bishnu Sapkota, and Narendra Thapa.
The screenplay and dialogues are by Parichhed Sen, with the story written by Govinda Phuyal and Shishir Chalise. Cinematography is handled by Bibek Basnet and Ishwor Sinkheman, while Ishwor Ghimire serves as the production manager.
Following the release of its promotional poster earlier, the film has intensified its marketing campaign with the launch of its first song.
Released three years ago, the original ‘Jhinge Dau’ emerged as a box-office success. As its sequel, ‘Jhinge Dau 2’ aims to replicate that success when it hits theaters on September 18, with Apple Entertainment handling nationwide distribution.
