Kathmandu: Popular comedian Suman Koirala, widely known by his stage persona ‘Dale Dai’, is set to make his feature film debut with the upcoming Nepali comedy ‘Tirimiri Jhyain’, which officially commenced production with a traditional launch ceremony.
Produced under the banner of Horizon Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd., the film held its auspicious muhurat ceremony following Vedic rituals in the presence of the production team, cast members, and media representatives. Principal photography is scheduled to begin on July 13 (Asar 29).
Based on a story and concept by Abhas Adhikari, the film is directed by Sameer. Speaking at the event, the director said the film aims to entertain audiences from beginning to end with clean, family-friendly satire and comedy.
Producer Pradyumna Bogati (Prabin) said the team is committed to delivering a quality family comedy, while executive producer and story writer Abhas Adhikari explained that the film draws inspiration from humorous incidents and everyday situations found in Nepali society.
Alongside Suman Koirala, the ensemble cast includes veteran actor Dhiren Shakya, Abhas Adhikari, Saroj Aryal, Rare Rai, Suraj Chaulagain, Raj Neupane, Jay Ram Dhakal, Pushkar Khatiwada, Rajshree Thapa, and Ghanshyam Joshi.
The film features cinematography by Bishal Kakshapati and music by Abhishek Karki. The screenplay and dialogues have been jointly written by Ganesh Upadhyay, Prem Bahadur Thapa, and Suman Koirala.
The production team says ‘Tirimiri Jhyain’ is being developed as a full-fledged comedy that blends laughter with satirical observations on contemporary society.
