Official Poster of Nir Shah’s ‘Kamala Miss’ Unveiled; Film Set for August 7 Release

Kathmandu: The official poster of veteran actor and director Nir Shah’s upcoming film ‘Kamala Miss’ has been unveiled ahead of its nationwide theatrical release on August 7 (Shrawan 22).

The newly released poster features a woman affectionately embracing a young boy, hinting at a story centered on the emotional bond between a mother and child. It reflects themes of love, sacrifice, and emotional struggle, while offering a glimpse into the film’s psychological narrative.

Inspired by renowned writer and playwright Bijay Malla’s acclaimed play ‘Kohi Kina Barbad Hos’, the film stars Nir Shah alongside Ramesh Budhathoki, Basana Timilsina, Shivam Saraf Kshetri, Aarav Dahal, Bhawana Magar, Krishna Murari Dhungel, Sushant Kumar Shrestha, Jayanta Regmi, Suresh Thapa, Rajan KC, and Sanjay Khatiwada.

Marking his return to directing after nearly a decade, Nir Shah aims to present a thought-provoking story exploring social realities, family relationships, and human emotions. He is best known for directing acclaimed Nepali films including ‘Basudev,’ ‘Pachhis Basanta,’ ‘Rajamati,’ ‘Basanti,’ ‘Masan,’ and ‘Seto Bagh.’

Produced by the Bijay Malla family for the Bijay Malla Memorial Foundation, the film’s executive producers are Chaitanya Prakash Pradhan, Umesh Malla, Ramesh Babu Shrestha, and Ram Bhattarai. Pushkar Lama (Prem Bhomjan) serves as the line producer.

The story is based on Bijay Malla’s original work, while the screenplay and dialogues have been jointly written by Nir Shah, Prajal Dulal, and Sugam Dulal.

The technical team includes cinematographer Shivaram Shrestha, editor Milan Bikram Shah, music composer Yug Bhusal, choreographer Ramji Lamichhane, colorist Renish Phago, sound mixer Mukesh Shah, production manager Bhola Subedi, and chief assistant director Sagar Bohara.

The film will be distributed across Nepal by Apple Entertainment, Reach Entertainment, and FD Company.
