Kathmandu: The makers of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Jadau’ have unveiled the film’s title song, ‘Jadau Hajur…’, ahead of its nationwide release on September 25 (Asoj 9).
The upbeat dance number was launched during a press event in Kathmandu and released through the Hi-Tech Entertainment YouTube channel.
The song features vocals by Rajan Raj Shiwakoti and Rachana Rimal, with lyrics and music composed by Babul Giri. The music video stars Niti Shah, Prabhatpal Thakuri, and Rajshree Thapa, while choreography is handled by Ramji Lamichhane.
Directed jointly by Anjan Sharma and Kaji Limbu, ‘Jadau’ is scheduled for nationwide theatrical release on September 25.
Speaking at the launch event, Rajan Raj Shiwakoti said this was the first time he had contributed to a film solely as a playback singer. Rachana Rimal added that it marked her first duet recording with the singer.
Produced by Samishran Movies & Entertainment in collaboration with Silver Screen Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the film features Mukun Bhushal, Richa Sharma, Niti Shah, Prabhatpal Thakuri, Rajshree Thapa, Binod Nyaupane, Naresh Paudyal, Geeta Adhikari, Khadga Bahadur Pun (Khabpu), Sundar Dhital, Sandhya Shrestha, and Sumitra Devkota.
Actress Niti Shah described the film as a realistic story that stands apart from recent releases. Actor Mukun Bhushal said audiences would see him in one of his most authentic roles, while Prabhatpal Thakuri called the project an important milestone in his career. Debut actress Rajshree Thapa expressed confidence that audiences would appreciate her first film performance.
Director Anjan Sharma said the team had left no stone unturned in delivering a quality film, while co-director and writer Kaji Limbu stated that the film aims to balance entertainment with a meaningful social message.
The film is shot by Shyam Tamang and Navaraj Upreti. Srijana Sharma and Manish Sharma serve as producers, Shanti Pudasaini as executive producer, and Bimala Bhandari as production head. Nationwide distribution will be handled by NGCN Group.
