Kathmandu: A new Nepali feature film, ‘Bumper Chittha’, has been officially announced as another internationally focused project in Nepal’s film industry. The announcement was made with the release of the film’s official theme poster under the Shadow Pictures banner.
The film will be directed by Bikky Maharjan, while Amit Agrahari and Nisha Guide serve as producers.
According to the production team, the project aims to introduce Nepal’s original stories, culture, and contemporary entertainment to audiences around the world.
The newly unveiled theme poster reflects Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and mysterious atmosphere. Featuring the silhouette of an ancient temple overlooking a bustling landscape, the poster offers a glimpse of the film’s mood while keeping the storyline under wraps. It hints at a narrative centered on Nepali society, culture, and human relationships.
The film will be produced in four languages—Nepali, Hindi, Telugu, and French—and is planned for a worldwide release on Amazon Prime Video. The producers believe the platform will enable the film to reach audiences in more than 240 countries and territories.
Director Bikky Maharjan has also written the film’s story. Details regarding the cast and the remaining technical crew will be announced in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the same production team’s previous film, ‘Out Law’, is scheduled for a global release on Amazon Prime Video this September. The filmmakers said production of ‘Bumper Chittha’ will move forward at full pace following the release of ‘Out Law’.
The production team describes ‘Bumper Chittha’ as more than just a comedy film, calling it an ambitious project aimed at strengthening the global presence of Nepali cinema.
