The song ‘Makhmali’ from the movie ‘Unko Sweater’, featuring actors Bipin Karki and Miruna Magar in lead roles, has been released.
The song, made public on Thursday, is based on Kauda and Chutka, two popular and traditional genres of Nepali folk music. These genres vividly express emotions like love, separation, humor, and social settings in a simple yet impactful manner.
The video of the song showcases unspoken love between Bipin and Miruna. While the melody is traditionally associated with the Gandak region, it has been blended with the culture of Panchthar in Eastern Nepal for the movie. The film’s shooting was carried out in Panchthar and the Nepal-India border area of Falelung.
The song features the voices of Sujan Chapagain and Sunita Thegim, with lyrics written by Harka Saud and music composed by Sujan Chapagain himself. The song’s music producer is Kovid Bajra, and the choreography for the video was done by Deep Gurung. Actor Wilson Bikram Rai appears in an engaging role in the video.
The movie is set to release simultaneously in Nepal and abroad on Baisakh 26 next year.
