Film Development Board Provides 1 Lakh for Rajan Thapa’s Cancer Treatment

The Film Development Board has provided financial assistance of One Lakh rupeese to cancer-stricken artist Rajan Thapa for his treatment.

Thapa, who has been active in the Nepali entertainment industry for four decades, has been battling intestinal cancer for the past year while facing financial difficulties.

As per the decision of the Film Workers’ Welfare Fund Management Committee, Board Chairman Dinesh DC handed over the cheque to him, on Friday.

The coordinator of the fund is veteran artist Basundhara Bhusal.

Having entered the film industry in 2039 B.S. (1982 A.D.), Thapa has acted in several notable films such as 6 Ekan 6, Dushman, Iku, Kangal, and Sampatti.

He has also appeared in popular television serials like Aviral Bagdachha Indrawati, Raharai Bho, Shriman Shrimati, Tito Satya, Chakkar, Bhuichalo, and Sanchaya.

The financial assistance was provided after it was found that he was struggling to afford treatment due to his weak financial condition.
