Miss Newa: 1145 Contestants Showcase Their Talents in Grand Talent Show in Kathmandu

The 20 contestants of Miss Newa: 1145, the 18th edition organized by Nepali Fashion Home, showcased their exceptional talents in the Talent Show held in Kathmandu on Saturday.

The Talent Show, chaired by Hema Manandhar, the president of NFH Events Pvt. Ltd., featured most of the contestants performing captivating dances to popular Nepal Bhasha songs. During the performance, they wore traditional Newar attire including Hakhu Patasi.

The event was graced by the chief guest, Ghanshyam Giri, Mayor of Chandragiri Municipality, and some contestants presented their talents through news reading, acting, flute performance, painting, and singing.

The judging panel of the Talent Show consisted of Jeeweshwar Lal Shrestha, Vice Principal of Namuna College of Fashion Technology, Laxman Maharjan, Lawyer and Chairman of Maa Baglamukhi Consumer Cooperative Society, singer Suraj Bir Bajracharya, Anil Stapit, Chairman of Nepal Lipi Guthi, former Governor of Lions Club International District 325L, Manishri Ratna Bajracharya, Miss Newa 1136’s First Runner-up and UNX Dance Studio Director Rikisha Dangol, among others.

In the Talent Show, Pralisha Shakya presented her talent by reading the news, while Ritisha Bajracharya (Sirsya Hegu), Suvechha Shrestha (Salugu Gacha), Ronisha Maharjan (Jita Yama Bhaju), Ruji Shakya (Siri Siri), Rimsha Shrestha (Dhimé), Prashasth Shakya (Shwet Bhairab), Divina Dangol (Seema Kacha), Ramuna Bajracharya (Likka Waya), Shraddha Maharjan (Lyama Ma Daju), Anusha Bajracharya (O Daicha Jimita), Anushree Shakya (Manjushree Nritya), and Prashna Shrestha (Chi Bhaju) performed dances to win the hearts of the judges.

In the Talent Show, Alpa Maharjan sang the song “Dhalla Jita Newa,” while Lumna Maharjan presented her flute performance. Shubashna Shrestha painted a picture of Lord Krishna, while Sanskriti Shrestha sang the song “Siri Siri,” and Lunibha Manandhar presented the song “Maicha” to showcase her talent. Kunta Shrestha delivered an impressive performance in a social awareness drama on cataracts, and Shreya Manandhar presented a devotional song, “Ganesh Dya.”

Hema Manandhar, the chairperson of Nepali Fashion Home, mentioned that Miss Newa is not just a beauty contest but also an initiative to preserve the art and culture of the Newar community. She expressed that such campaigns should not only be limited to the Newar community but should be present in every community. She also highlighted that the Talent Show aimed to bring out the rich art and culture of the Newar community.

Special guests of the Talent Show included Dil Kumar Maharjan, Vice President of Fight for Life Nepal, Raju Napit, Nepal Language and Script Trainer, Miss Newa 1143 Sakina Maharjan, Miss Newa 1141 Krisha Maharjan, Miss Newa Social Service Ambassador 1143 Timila Maharjan, Rashmi Thapa, Runner-up of Mrs. Nepal Canada 2025, Krishna Bhattarai, Editor-in-Chief of Kalakar, and Aruna Bhattarai, Editor. The ceremony was also attended by Navina Shakya, Divas Shrestha, Salika Chitrakar, and Man Krishna Shrestha as guests of honor.
