The highly anticipated sequel to the superhit film ‘Resham Filili’, titled ‘Feri Resham Filili’, is set to release on February 26 (Falgun 14), coinciding with Maha Shivaratri. Advance booking for the film has now opened.

As of the time of this report, the film has secured 79 shows across the country. Considering that two other films are also releasing on the same day, this is an encouraging number. The strong buzz generated by the film’s trailer and songs has played a key role in securing these shows.

Out of the 79 total shows, 42 are in the Kathmandu Valley, while 37 are outside the Valley. These numbers are based on data from the Khalti mobile app. With additional theaters yet to finalize their show allocations, industry estimates suggest that ‘Feri Resham Filili’ could secure over 125 shows by tomorrow noon, which is an outstanding number.

The original ‘Resham Filili’, released in 2015 (2072 BS), set a record-breaking opening day collection. However, due to the devastating earthquake the following day, the film’s screening was postponed and later re-released. At the time, it received praise for bringing a unique style of comedy to Nepali cinema.

After nearly nine years, the sequel has sparked excitement among audiences. This time, the film follows the story of the main character, Resham, after he obtains a U.S. visa and the events that unfold around him.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Vinay Shrestha, Supushpa Bhatt, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, Neer Shah, Prakash Ghimire, Shishir Wangdel, Rabindra Jha, Laxmi Giri, Mahesh Tripathi, Evanraj Upreti, Maxam Gaudel, and Sajan Thapa.

Sushant Prajapati is the cinematographer, with Niroj Maharjan and Aakash Baral handling the screenplay. Naresh King Yogi directed the action sequences, while the music is composed by Kali Prasad Baskota, SD Yogi, Hark Saud, Jayan J Wayba, and Deepak Sharma. The film is edited by Surendra Paudel.

Produced in collaboration between Cinema Art and V Motion Pictures, the film’s producer is Raunak Bikram Kadel, with Suraj Bam Thakuri as the executive producer and Aeni Thapa as the co-producer.

The film is directed by Niroj Maharjan, who also wrote the story.

The film’s poster design was created by Royal Bhimsen from Trident Concept. Govinda Shahi’s Kafiya Films and Kuber Cine Distribution are handling the distribution.
