The long-awaited Nepali film Balidan has officially announced its release date.

The production team, led by director Santosh Sen, has decided to release the film on Fulpati (Ashoj 13) of the year 2082 BS. While unveiling two poster looks of lead actor Samir Bhatt, Sen stated that the movie focuses on the struggle against exploitation, injustice, and the so-called leaders of society within Nepal’s sovereign land.

One of the released posters features Kalimata in the background, while Samir holds a massive weapon with a trident, depicting him in a victorious state after fulfilling his mission. According to Sen, this poster represents a moment after Samir has sacrificed individuals with demonic tendencies. The second poster shows Samir standing amid scattered corpses, dragging a person by the leg, hinting at a scene of mass carnage.

Director Sen revealed that deciding to make Balidan was not easy, and the team had to put in immense effort during the preparation, shooting, and editing processes. He said, “When I decided to make this film, I never imagined the extent of sacrifices it would require. Among all the blood and sweat I’ve shed in my life, I feel I’ve given the most to this project.”

He mentioned that the script was finalized after continuous discussions with the writers. The story isn’t just about a specific time but carries a message for the past, present, and future. He emphasized that no compromises were made in raising the voices of the oppressed class. Every aspect, from casting to technical execution, production management, music, and editing, has been meticulously crafted. The pre-production phase is now complete, and the post-production process is utilizing the expertise and technology of the South Indian film industry.

The film’s first landing pre-teaser was released a year ago, initially setting Phulpati 2081 as the release date. However, Sen explained that an additional year was taken to ensure an even better presentation. “We did not want to compromise on any aspect of the production, so we found it necessary to take extra time,” he added.

The action scenes in the movie were filmed using advanced technology under the supervision of renowned South Indian action director Stunder Sam, with a team of around 30 members. Notably, for the climax scene, a massive 42-foot-tall statue of Kalimata was constructed at Budhasubba Ground, which garnered significant attention.

The film features a powerful cast, with Samir Bhatt, who gained fame from 12 Gaun, in the lead role. It also stars seasoned actors such as Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, and Richa Sharma, among others.

The music for the film has been created in collaboration with the Artmandu Team, with contributions from singer Sujan Chapagain, lyricist Hark Saud, and director Naveen Chauhan, working on the film’s songs, background score, and other musical elements.

Produced by Asusen Films Pvt. Ltd., the film is backed by producer Pawan Bradford Bista, with Prem Puri serving as the executive producer.

The team has also hinted at releasing new video updates soon. Director Sen concluded by expressing his gratitude for audience support, stating, “This journey is incomplete without your love and encouragement. We are ready to reach your villages, neighborhoods, and homes. Jai Balidan!”
