The trailer of the Nepali film ‘Anjila’, set to release on Falgun 29, was unveiled on Friday and has reached the second position in the YouTube trending movies section in Nepal. The trailer showcases the journey of Nepal’s women’s national football team captain and No. 1 goalkeeper, Anjila Tumbapo Subba—her passion for football, her abilities, the struggles she faced breaking societal barriers, and her rise to captaincy. Viewers have praised Anjila’s performance as an actress in a film based on her own life story.

Director Milan Chams has expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming love and response to the trailer of ‘Anjila.’ He shared his happiness over the film reaching second place in YouTube’s trending section and urged audiences to extend the same support to the movie. The film features Anjila alongside Prem Kumar Shrestha, Dayahang Rai, Sunil Thapa, Vijay Baral, Sirjana Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, and Buddhi Tamang. The cinematography was carried out by Sudip Baral, while Milan Shrestha handled the editing. The film was shot in Anjila’s birthplace, Ilam’s Aitabare, as well as in Jhapa and Kathmandu. Produced under the banner of Moon Love Entertainment, the film is produced by Prem Kumar Shrestha, with Tubendra Limbu, Binod Agrawal, and Rajesh Bagdia serving as co-producers.
