The teaser of ‘Jhilko’ has been released. Directed by Yadukumar Bhattarai, who is known for Jhola, the teaser, unveiled on Thursday, highlights the impact of mobile addiction on society.
The teaser primarily portrays the effects of mobile addiction on children. It also explores the increasing digital dependency of the younger generation and its psychological, social, and familial consequences. The story reflects how excessive mobile usage creates rifts in relationships, distances individuals from one another, and leads people to become more engrossed in the digital world than in real life.
Director Bhattarai has previously focused on social issues in his films. Just as he depicted Sati Pratha in Jhola and Dowry System in Bhor, Jhilko delves into the expansion of digital technology and its social impact.
The film stars Ayushi Dhakal, Sunil Pokharel, Barsha Siwakoti, Bishal Pokharel, Bhola Raj Sapkota, Jevin Shrestha, and Jevis Shrestha. Deepak Bajracharya has handled the cinematography, Nimesh Shrestha has done the editing, Shyam Kunwar is responsible for color grading, and Uttam Neupane for sound mixing.
The story and screenplay of Jhilko have been co-written by director Bhattarai along with Arundev Joshi and Devbrata. The film features lyrics by Anand Adhikari, music by Chandi Prasad Kafle and Deepak Sharma, and vocals by Shiva Pariyar, Nisha Deshar, and Sahima Shrestha.
Presented by Media for Culture Pvt. Ltd. and co-produced by Janata TV, Jhilko is set to release on Baisakh 19.
