Director Saurabh Chaudhary has stated that through the film ‘Karma,’ he has narrated the story of the game of karma. He indicated that ‘Karma’ is based on the Eastern philosophy that one reaps what one sows.
The teaser reinforces this idea with the dialogue, “What goes around, comes around.”
The teaser conveys that whatever a person experiences is the result of their own actions.
Saurabh has emphasized the same belief. According to him, it’s just a matter of time—if someone does good deeds, they receive good outcomes, and if they engage in bad actions, they will inevitably face consequences.
No matter how wrong an action is, fate will deliver justice, he believes. “If someone is praised despite doing wrong, they will eventually have to pay for it in some way,” says Saurabh. “That is karma. Believing in this, I made this film. That’s why I say, always do good.”
He further explains that if a person cannot take revenge on someone who wronged them, the universe will ensure that justice is served through another means. “If someone does me wrong, even if I don’t retaliate, someone else will balance it out,” he states.
Director Chaudhary has mentioned that he was the first to secure the release date of Chaitra 29 (April 11, 2025). He claims that when he set this date, no other film had been scheduled for release.
He further elaborates that after he began shooting, other films also started announcing their release on the same date.
“Rather than arguing over who booked the release date first, we should focus on how to bring audiences to theaters,” he remarks. “Since multiple films are releasing on the same day, we should work together to ensure audiences come to the cinema.”
The film Karma features performances from Bipin Karki, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Mukun Bhusal, Divyadev, Sarita Giri, Ben Basnet, Suzyan Silwal, Anil Budhathoki, Nirmal Sharma, and others.
Scheduled for release on Chaitra 29, Karma will be simultaneously screened in Nepal and abroad, coinciding with the New Year 2082.
An action-packed film, Karma blends drama, suspense, and action. The story is written by director Chaudhary himself.
The international distribution rights for Karma have been acquired by Seven Seas Films.
The film boasts music direction by Bhaskar Swar, choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj, action direction by Shri Shrestha, and editing by Nimesh Shrestha.
Taranath Neupane serves as the chief assistant director, while the film’s VFX is handled by Samir Miya, background score by Uttam Neupane, teaser and trailer by Shahil Khan, publicity design by Bijay Basyal, and color grading by Rajendra Moktan.
Presented by Artistic Entertainment, Karma is backed by producer Basanta Lamsal.
Director Chaudhary’s previous film, Agastya: Chapter 1, received positive feedback from both audiences and critics.
