The fourth edition of the ‘Nepal Rural Film Festival’ (NERUFF) is set to take place in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality of Rasuwa district. Organizers Celebrity Nepal announced the festival during a press conference held on Thursday at Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa. The festival will be held from April 16 to 18 (Baisakh 4–6).

Held annually in different rural districts, the festival showcases Nepali feature films, short films, documentaries, and cultural films created in rural settings. Festival Chairman Raghunath Sapkota shared that various dialogue programs will also be organized, focusing on Nepali cinema, tourism, and rural narratives. In addition to screening Nepali films, the event aims to promote local tourism and preserve indigenous art and culture. Director Kamal Ekchai Magar serves as the festival coordinator.

Around two dozen films are expected to be screened, and audiences in the villages will have the opportunity to interact directly with the filmmakers and cast. As there are no movie theaters in Rasuwa, the festival is expected to provide full entertainment for movie enthusiasts and contribute to the promotion of the Nepali film industry. Organizers aim to attract around 4,000 attendees to the event.

The Film Development Board is collaborating with the festival. Additionally, the Fourth Ward-Level Volleyball Tournament, which is organized annually by Gosainkunda Rural Municipality, will also take place from April 14 to 18 (Baisakh 2–6). Organizers believe that such events are crucial for the promotion of tourism in Rasuwa and will help bring national and international recognition to the district.
