Actor Bipin Karki Steps Out of Comfort Zone with First Action Film

Actor Bipin Karki is stepping out of his comfort zone and making his debut in an action film. In Karma, he is seen in an action role for the first time.

Having worked in social dramas, how did Bipin prepare to work in an action role for the first time? Director Saurabh Chaudhary’s initial offer was enough for him to accept the role.

Bipin, who enjoys working in new stories and genres, was easily ready to take on an action role. For Karma, he even worked on losing weight and going to the gym.

Director Saurabh Chaudhary has a different perspective on Nepali action films. He wants to change the narrative of action films altogether.

He mentions that in Nepali films, there are usually only three or four action sequences, and those are often the reason the film is classified as an action movie.

“There may be action sequences in some films, but if the overall film is driven by emotion, should we call it an action film or a social drama?” he questions. He insists that if a film is called an action movie, it should have action sequences that reflect that genre.

His argument is that if a film has 20 minutes of fighting scenes in a 2.5-hour film, there should be a debate on whether it qualifies as an action film or not.

The film, which will be released on Chait 29, has its international distribution rights taken by Seven Seas Cinema.

The film, presented by Artistic Entertainment, features performances from Bipin Karki, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Mukun Bhusal, Sarita Giri, Dibyadev, Ben Basnet, Sujan Silwal, Anil Budhathoki, Nirmal Sharma, and others.

Karma is a drama, suspense, and action genre film. The film, backed by Basanta Lamsal’s investment, features cinematography by Sanjay Lama, background score and sound design by Uttam Neupane.

The film also includes music direction by Bhaskar Swarn, choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj, action direction by Shri Shrestha, and editing by Nimesh Shrestha.
