Danila Karki Crowned Mrs. Nepal World 2024

Danila Karki has won the title of Mrs. Nepal World 2024, a beauty pageant for married women. She claimed the crown, surpassing 28 contestants in the final competition held Saturday night at the Nepal Academy in Kamaladi, Kathmandu.

Danila won the title by giving an impressive answer to the question posed by the main judge, Anuradha Koirala, the chairperson of Maiti Nepal. Along with the crown, she also won a scooter and the opportunity to represent Nepal in the upcoming Mrs. World pageant in the U.S. in January.

In the competition, Elina Ghimire was named the first runner-up, Kiran Karki the second runner-up, and Anu Karki the third runner-up for Mrs. Nepal World. They each received various gifts along with their titles.

In the same event, the title of Mrs. Nepal International went to Suyasha Raut, while Reshma Ghimire won the Ms. Nepal International title. These two winners will soon represent Nepal in Mrs. International and Ms. International competitions in Singapore. The finalists included Sara Tamang, Nirmala Karki, Reshma Ghimire, and Nanu Singh.

At the event, senior comedian actress Basundhara Bhusal was honored with the Honorary Mrs. Nepal World Award 2024 for her six decades of contribution to Nepali cinema. Anuradha Koirala, actor Dhiren Shakya, Ribbon Entertainment Chairman Nishukant Jha, and official choreographer Ashwinikant Jha presented the award to Bhusal.

Before the honor ceremony, a dance tribute was presented to celebrate Bhusal’s contribution, with actor Gajit Bista and his team performing on some of her iconic movie songs. Expressing her joy, Bhusal shared that this honor has inspired her to contribute further to the Nepali film industry.

The event, organized by Ribbon Entertainment, also awarded titles in various categories. Maya Lama won the Public Choice and Facebook Choice awards, Nanu Singh received the Viewer’s Choice, Most Talented, and Multimedia Choice awards, while Anu Karki won Best Hair, Sara Tamang received Healthy Skin, Suyasha Raut received Best Ramp Walk, Neha Karn was awarded Best Smile, Ambika Gautam received Most Disciplined, Elina Ghimire won Mrs. Congeniality, Kiran Karki won Beauty with Compassion, Srijana Byanjankar received Best Personality, Srishti Aryal won Best Physique, Simran Karki received Fashion Icon, Susila KC Dahal was awarded Most Creative, Srijana Shrestha won Best Spiritual Dance, Sahara Timalsina Aryal received Photogenic, and Pragati Shrestha won the Management Choice award.

The main judges included Anuradha Koirala, television personality Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar, actor Dhiren Shakya, comedian Kedar Prasad Ghimire, advocate Jenish Pahari, actress Usha Rajak, and Shri Kesh Oil chairman Tikaram Budhathoki.

The grand finale was hosted by Sesemi Limbu. In his speech, journalist Rishi Dhamala highlighted how the pageant provides a platform for Nepali women from national to international levels, contributing to their personality development.

Singer Arjun Pandey added a musical touch to the event with performances of his popular songs. The choreography was directed by Ashwini Kant Jha, with assistant choreography by Aina Gajurel, and coordination by Rani Kharel and Samrat Shah, while Ganga Maharjan managed the event.
