Nepal Tops India in Penalty Shootout to Reach SAFF Women’s Championship 2024 Final

In the semifinals of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2024, Nepal has secured a place in the final by defeating India. The semifinal match, held on Sunday at Dasarath Stadium, saw Nepal triumph over India in a penalty shootout.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw after being interrupted twice due to controversies. In the penalty shootout, Nepal scored four goals while India managed to score only two. Nepal will face Bangladesh in the final on Wednesday.

This was the second time Nepal and India competed in the semifinals. In 2022, Nepal also defeated India at Dasarath Stadium, but subsequently lost to Bangladesh in the final.

In the earlier semifinal, Bangladesh secured their spot in the final for the second time by defeating Bhutan 7-1.
