The first look of the film Koshedhunga has been unveiled along with the announcement of its release date. The production team released the film’s poster on Thursday as part of the first-look reveal.

Scheduled to be released on Bhadra 12 (August 28), the poster features lead actress Surakshya Panta. In the poster, Surakshya is seen wrapped in a shawl, glancing back, creating an impression of a newly married woman.

She is standing near the courtyard of a house in the hills. The house appears to have been abandoned for a while, as suggested by the overgrown grass in the courtyard, although it doesn’t seem to have been empty for long.

The house looks like it belongs to a wealthy person from the hills. One might speculate that someone has returned to the house after leaving it for a while.

With a backdrop of foggy hills, a house nestled at the base of a mountain, and a newlywed woman who seems to have just returned from the city, the visual hints that she may be back in the village to start something new.

However, the production team has not revealed anything about the storyline. “The poster definitely hints at something, but let’s keep it limited to this for now,” said director Saroj Paudel of Koshedhunga. “We will gradually reveal more of the story through upcoming materials.”

Koshedhunga features Surakshya Panta, Aryan Sigdel, Niti Shah, Praveen Khatiwada, Richa Sharma, Saroj Khanal, Bishal Pahadi, Lokmani Sapkota, Hiunwala Gautam, Dinesh Kafle, Shekhar Chapagain, Siru Bista, Uddhav Sapkota, Sabita Regmi, Sabin Kattel, and Bikash Khanal among others.

Surakshya Panta plays the lead role in this women-centric film.

Presented by Nardevi Films, the film is produced by Previl Kandel and Kishor Anurag, with Dinesh Khadka as the executive producer.

The film’s cinematography is handled by Babu Shrestha, editing by Nahkul Khadka, and music by Ashish Aviral and Rhythm Kandel. The casting director is Suwalmani Sapkota.

Directed by the same filmmaker behind Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, Koshedhunga has become one of the most anticipated films. Saroj’s earlier film grossed over NPR 475 million in Nepal alone, raising expectations for this new project.

According to the production team, the film will be released simultaneously in Nepal and in international markets.
