Film Development Board Launches Children’s Film Festival in Ilam

Under the initiative of the Film Development Board, the “Children’s Film Festival, Ilam” has begun as part of the ‘Cinema for the Nation’ campaign.

This special festival, running from Jestha 5 to 10 (mid-May), features a variety of programs aimed at combining knowledge, entertainment, and creativity for children.

Key programs under the festival include:

  • Children’s film production training workshop

  • Mobile cinema and film literacy campaign

  • Children’s film screenings

  • Special session with celebrities for children

The events will be held in Ilam Bazaar and 10 major tourist destinations across Ilam, with special support from Ilam Municipality and promotion by the Nepal Tourism Board.

The festival is expected to contribute to the creative development of children while also showcasing the natural beauty and cultural richness of Ilam through films.

Alongside this festival, a “Cinema–Tourism Festival” is also being organized by the Film Journalists Association in collaboration with the Film Development Board.
This festival will feature film–tourism workshops, media discussions, cinema dialogues, and interactive programs, all aimed at strengthening the connection between the film and tourism sectors.
