
Actor Saugat Malla, Anup Bikram Shahi, Krisha Chaulagain, and Salon Basnet have departed for Japan to participate in the ‘Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival 2025.’ They left for Japan to attend the festival scheduled for May 25.
Yuna Entertainment, which has been distributing Nepali films in Japan, has secured nominations in the action category at the ‘Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival 2025.’ Saugat Malla is nominated for Best Actor for the film ‘Pitambar,’ Anup Bikram Shahi for Breakthrough Performance, and Krisha Chaulagain for Best Director. Saugat Malla’s action performance in the film has been highly appreciated by the audience. Before leaving for Japan, Saugat expressed his happiness at getting the opportunity to participate in the award ceremony. Director Krisha Chaulagain of the film ‘Pitambar,’ currently screening in theaters, considers this a personal success.
Director Krisha has been praised for her courage in making this type of action film in Nepal. Her directorial skills have been well-received by audiences. She previously directed the film ‘Aincho Paincho,’ which was also critically successful. Transitioning from producer to director, Krisha directed ‘Pitambar’ with a cast of successful actors. The film is still running successfully in theaters.
Meanwhile, Salon Basnet has also flown to Japan to participate in the festival after receiving a Best Actor nomination for the film ‘Rangi.’
The festival will include films from various countries. Yuna Entertainment continues to distribute Nepali films in Japan. Ujjwal Guragai is the head of Yuna Entertainment. He stated that their main goal in participating in the festival is to expand the Nepali film market domestically and internationally. During the conversation, he said, “Our team believes this will help elevate Nepali films to the international level.”
According to him, this festival will mark a historic success for Nepali films. Yuna Entertainment and Ujjwal Guragai’s leadership are actively working on screening and promoting Nepali films in Japan. The award ceremony of this festival will be held on May 25, 2025, at 5 PM at the Menikan Arts and Culture Memorial Foundation (Main Theater Aoi) in Nagoya, Japan.
