Karsang director Yam Sherpa has signed actor Dayahang Rai for his new film Mirmire.

On the occasion of Nepali New Year 2082, Sherpa released the film’s theme poster and announced that the film would be released within the same year.

“We have signed one of the most sought-after actors of the time for Mirmire. This is our second collaboration,” said director Sherpa. “When I pitched the story and he liked it, our collaboration became possible. We are coming with another social drama.”

He added that Mirmire would have a strong lineup, though he has not yet revealed who the other cast members will be.

Presented by Yarsa Films, the film tells a social story set in a rural setting. The theme poster features a male and a female character standing in the soft glow of the morning sun, facing toward it.

In addition to directing, Yam Sherpa has also written the story himself.

Nimu Sherpa, Chhomba Lama Sherpa, and Angchiring Sherpa are the producers of Mirmire, while Govinda Bohora and Ishwar Shrestha are the co-producers. The executive producer of the film is Rohit Kattel.

Although Mirmire is set to release in 2082 B.S., the exact release date has not yet been finalized. The film will be distributed by RR Films.
