Actress Rekha Thapa’s debut play Meera has opened for booking. The play is set to be staged from Jestha 15 (May 28).
Rekha plays the titular role of Meera in the play.
The performance will take place at the newly constructed Kantipur Theater of Kantipur Film Academy in Gairidhara, which has been providing education in film studies. With this production, the theater is beginning its journey into professional theatrical performances. The foundation of the theater was laid by actor Rajesh Hamal.
Rekha will appear in a rebellious character in the play. The story revolves around a woman’s rebellion against her family and society.
The play, which will run until Ashar 7 (June 21), is based on the novel Meera written by Deepak Singhaali.
The stage adaptation and direction are by Sundar Dhital.
In addition to Rekha, the cast includes Bishal Pahari, Binda Khatiwada, Bishal Devkota, Geet Bista, Doresh Khatiwada, Unnat Upreti, and Sunil Khadka.
Likewise, Bishwa Kafle is responsible for the music and singing in the play, with Divya Sedhai as the choreographer, Yamuna Gurung handling costumes, Sangeet Sapkota designing the stage, Hum B.C. in charge of stage construction, and Aditya Mishra managing lighting design.
Bhumika Khadka is the manager of the play.
The play will be staged every day at 5:30 PM, except on Wednesdays.
