What Message Is the ‘Superstar’ Trying to Convey Through His Nationwide Tour?

After an eight-year hiatus, superstar Rajesh Hamal is back on the big screen and currently on a nationwide promotional tour. Unlike his past films, Hamal is going all out in promoting Narasimha: Avatar. From media appearances before release to visiting cinema halls afterward, Hamal appears highly enthusiastic.

While promoting the film in various theaters, some criticized Hamal, questioning whether a “superstar” brand should have to go this far. But Hamal views it as a valuable opportunity to meet audiences directly.

He didn’t just stick to Kathmandu; he traveled to theaters outside the capital, including film stations in the east and cities like Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, and Dhangadhi in the west, where he met audiences face to face.

Hamal is scheduled to visit Pokhara tomorrow (Tuesday) to meet local viewers. Clearly, he’s taking Narasimha: Avatar seriously, actively promoting it in person across the country.

Remarkably, throughout this tour, Hamal never requested bodyguards — something newer-generation actors often demand even during press conferences. Instead, Hamal engaged freely with audiences, took selfies, and conversed openly.

With this, Hamal has successfully conveyed that he remains active in the film industry and is fully committed to the success of his projects.

Directed and written by Diwakar Bhattarai, Narasimha: Avatar stars Rajesh Hamal alongside Raj Katuwal, Sanisha Bhattarai, Niti Shah, Prashant Tamrakar, Tarzan, Ramesh Chand Sodari, Rajiv Jung Basnet, Usha Khadgi, and Evelina Khadka.

According to producers, the film grossed NPR 20.4 million in its first week. The film is produced by Nem Maharjan, Narendra Maharjan, Deepak Prasad Dhakal, and Dhruba Neupane.
