Actor Paul Shah has officially signed on for the upcoming film Aa Bata Aama, directed by writer-director Chandra Pant. The production team recently confirmed his casting.
Paul expressed that he was emotionally moved by the script, which inspired him to join the project. He shared that the screenplay touched him deeply, motivating his excitement to be a part of the film.
He revealed, “The script was the first thing that captivated me. It’s extremely emotional. The film also features a team of seasoned actors, which further encouraged me to take on the role. Chandra Dai’s previous film Hrashwa Deergha had excellent making, so I believe this film will also be well-crafted.”
Paul added that among all the films he has worked on, this one has one of the strongest storylines. “We listened to the script two or three times, and everyone involved became emotional. I truly believe Aa Bata Aama will be my most emotional film to date, and I’m confident the audience will love it.”
Though he refrained from revealing details about his character, Paul assured that more information will be shared soon.
Earlier, actress Bipana Thapa had already been confirmed for the mother’s role. Director Pant had made his return to Nepali cinema after 16 years with Hrashwa Deergha, which was well received by audiences. Bipana’s collaboration with Pant in this film marks their second partnership.
Pant confirmed that Bipana will play the lead role in Aa Bata Aama.
The film’s theme poster, released a few days ago, shows a child attempting to catch a teardrop falling from a mother’s eye—symbolizing the emotional depth between a mother and her child. The story, penned by Abhimanyu Nirabi, promises a powerful narrative.
According to Pant, Aa Bata Aama will officially release on Falgun 15 (late February 2026).
