Psychological Thriller ‘The Blue Light’ Starts Filming

‘The Blue Light’ film has officially commenced with a traditional “shubhamuhurta” ceremony held today at the Ganesh Temple in Kamaladi, Kathmandu.

The ceremony was attended by the film’s main cast and crew members. Filming is set to begin on Thursday, Jeth 22 (June 6).

The shooting schedule is set for 20 days across various locations in the Kathmandu Valley.

‘The Blue Light’ is directed by Baliram Chauhan, who is known as the writer and chief assistant director of the much-anticipated film Balidan. This marks Chauhan’s directorial debut.

The film’s theme poster has already been released. It features a young girl standing in a blue-hued atmosphere. The poster shows only the upper half of her body, with disheveled hair and a mysterious expression—hinting at a psychological and suspenseful storyline.

The main cast includes Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, Ayushman Desraj Joshi, Benisha Hamal, Shristi Shrestha, and Suraksha Itani. Child actors Grisma Katuwal and Sahara Sharma also appear in key roles.

A psychological thriller, ‘The Blue Light’ is presented by Skyfall Pictures. Raman Grey joins as the co-producer, while Narendra Mainali handles cinematography.

Akash Ukheda serves as the chief assistant director, with Reliza Shrestha as the production designer and Dilip Pant as the production controller.

Director Chauhan has kept the storyline under wraps. “We will gradually reveal more details about the story through our promotional materials,” Chauhan said. “We aim to create an exceptional film within this genre that will resonate with audiences.”

‘The Blue Light’ is set for release within 2025.
