The upcoming Nepali film ‘Paral Ko Aago’ will feature the timeless classic song ‘Udijaun Bhane Ma Panchhi Haina, Basna Elai Man Chhaina’. The filmmakers have officially obtained permission from composer Shanti Thatal to include the song in the film.

Producer Sushil Pokharel personally visited Thatal’s residence in Siliguri, India, to finalize the agreement. The song, composed by Thatal with lyrics by Man Bahadur Mukhia and vocals by the late Aruna Lama, was originally featured in the 1980s film also titled Paral Ko Aago.

Pokharel stated that the song is integral to the film, and thus they sought direct permission from the original creator. A formal agreement has been signed between both parties.

Composer Thatal expressed her happiness about the inclusion of her work in the new film, saying, “I fully approve the use of my composition ‘Udijaun Bhane Ma Panchhi Haina, Basna Elai Man Chhaina’ in the upcoming feature film ‘Paral Ko Aago’, being produced by Shri Om Cine Makers Pvt. Ltd. I also extend my best wishes for the film’s great success.”

The film, based on the story Paral Ko Aago by Guru Prasad Mainali, will feature actors Jitu Nepal, Prakash Saput, and Suhana Thapa. They were recently signed by the production team.

Paral Ko Aago is being produced by Hari Om Cine Makers, under the direction of Laxman Sunar — who previously directed the award-winning film Bulaki. The production is scheduled to begin filming from the Nepali month of Falgun, with a planned release during Dashain of 2082 B.S.

Interestingly, a film with the same title was made 45 years ago by director Pratap Subba. The original story is part of Mainali’s acclaimed short story collection Naso.

Producer Pokharel has previously produced several notable films, including Maidan, Jeevandata, Nigarani, Jai Shiv Shankar, Love Sab, Radhe, and Yatra.
