
Celebrities have praised the upcoming film Jante Bakhro, set to release this Friday, calling it entertaining after watching its premiere. The event was held Wednesday evening at QFX in Civil Mall, Sundhara. Actress Barsha Raut expressed her joy, saying it had been a long time since she enjoyed such a humorous story on the big screen.
“I laughed a lot inside the hall after a long time. It felt great to see Ashif dai on screen again. He’s portrayed his role very differently compared to his earlier films,” she said.
Actor Sanjog Koirala, who attended with Raut, said Jante Bakhro offers both tradition and entertainment for the new generation. He praised the rural setting and visuals captured in the film. “If the trailer attracted you, you must come watch the film—it’s enjoyable. It brings rural beauty, social harmony, and tradition together,” he added.
Comedian Sandeep Chhetri, who had known the script during production, said the story had been presented in a fun and engaging way. “I laughed at many points, and the film managed to keep the audience hooked throughout. Producer Santosh Gautam did not compromise in making this film,” he shared.
Singer Mahesh Kafle said the film expressed a full range of human emotions. “The story flows smoothly and brings smiles throughout. The light comedy is refreshing. I enjoyed it a lot,” he noted.
Actress Garima Sharma, in her first lead role, said she was more excited after hearing the positive responses from industry professionals. “Those who understand films attended this premiere and gave us great feedback. We managed to make the first audience happy, and I hope we’ll get the same from the general audience,” she said.
Actor Lokendra Lekhak highlighted the quality of the story, cast, and production, encouraging families to watch the film together. Ashif Shah said he enjoyed watching the film as a viewer and found the rural experience new and fulfilling.
“This is a family film with humor, emotion—it has everything. Today’s responses were encouraging, and I’m hopeful for similar reactions post-release,” he said.
Actor Saugat Malla also expressed anticipation for the audience’s reaction. “I think I’ve done something a bit different here, and I hope people will like it,” he stated.
Producer Santosh Gautam emphasized that he made no compromises in the production. The film is designed to be watchable by the whole family. Advance ticket bookings have already opened.
Jante Bakhro showcases disappearing village traditions like wedding feasts on banana leaves and features songs such as Muku Muku Mya, Ghamai Raja, and Angurko Jhuppo, all of which have been well received. Directed by Simosh Sunuwar, the story was written by Pradeep Bhardwaj. The film’s cinematography was handled by Hari Humagain and Uttam Humagain, with editing by Sunil Shivabhakti and distribution by Tiphlak Films. Digital rights are owned by G2One Digital.
