The much-anticipated Nepali film Balidan has revealed the look of actor Saugat Malla. Scheduled for release on the day of Phulpati during the upcoming Dashain festival, the film has unveiled two posters showcasing Malla in a powerful and mysterious avatar.
In one of the posters, Malla is seen with one eye shaded black, wearing a long beard, flowing hair, and dark-colored attire. He holds a burning torch in his hand, with flames and a group of people in the background — suggesting a storyline rooted in conflict and rebellion. In another poster, he appears armed and ready for battle. According to director Santosh Sen, Malla portrays a completely different avatar in Balidan, a role for which he has put in extensive effort.
Saugat Malla is widely respected in the Nepali film industry for his craft, and audiences are always eager to witness his transformations. His intense and unique look in Balidan is expected to draw viewers to theaters. The film is being positioned as a perfect festive entertainment package for audiences during Dashain.
Previously, a pre-teaser featuring lead actor Samir Bhatt was released on the occasion of his birthday, showcasing his character delivering patriotic dialogues and engaging in powerful action sequences. The teaser trended on YouTube in Nepal and across over a dozen countries with significant Nepali diaspora.
Presented by Asusen Films Pvt. Ltd., Balidan stars Samir Bhatt, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Richa Sharma, Kavita Rai, Hemant Budhathoki, and Prem Puri, among others. The film is produced by Pawan Bradford Bista and executive produced by Prem Puri.
