‘The Blue Light’ Poster: Why Does Benisha Look So Distressed?

The poster of the film The Blue Light has been released. The production team unveiled the film’s poster on Sunday.

One of the lead actors, Benisha Hamal, appears on the poster. She is shown sitting at a bar, holding a cigarette between her fingers, seemingly in distress.

With a blue lighting scheme, her get-up, the look of anxiety on her face, the glass of alcohol in front of her, and the cigarette in her hand all hint that she might be portraying a bar girl.

It can be speculated that her tension stems from betrayal after being given false hope. However, the production team has not clarified this. They have said that more information about Benisha’s role and the storyline will be revealed gradually.

The poster may be hinting that the film delves into the psychological struggles and dark side of Kathmandu’s colorful nightlife—but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Filming began last Thursday. The shoot will span 20 days at various locations within the Kathmandu Valley.

The Blue Light is being directed by Baliram Chauhan, who is known as the writer and chief assistant director of the highly anticipated film Balidan. This marks his directorial debut.

The film’s theme poster had already been made public. It features a girl standing amidst a blue-toned environment, with only her upper body visible. Her messy hair and disturbed expression suggest a mysterious and psychological backdrop for the story.

Alongside Benisha Hamal, the film stars Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, Aayushman Deshraj Joshi, Shristi Shrestha, and Surakshya Poudel. Child actors Grishma Katuwal and Sahara Sharma are also featured.

This psychological thriller is being presented by Skyfall Pictures. Raman Grey will serve as co-producer, while cinematographer Narendra Mainali and actress Benisha Hamal are executive producers. Mainali will also handle cinematography.

The film’s chief assistant director is Akash Ukheda, with Relija Shrestha as production designer and Dilip Pant as production controller.

Director Chauhan has announced that The Blue Light will be released within 2025.
