Kathmandu – On the occasion of the 101st day of its theatrical run, the team behind the film Laaj Sharanam donated school supplies to students.
The team provided 30 school uniforms, bags, and water bottles to students at Shree Balkalyan Basic School in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-5, Sindhupalchok.
The donation was organized by Mother Kids Foundation Nepal and handed over by producer Navin Shrestha.
“On the proud occasion of completing 101 successful days of Laaj Sharanam, we decided to support these students. I thank Mother Kids Foundation Nepal and ACK KTM Sindhu Chautara City for this opportunity,” said producer Shrestha. “We aim to continue such social contributions in the future.”
Directed by Kumar Kattel, Laaj Sharanam celebrated 101 days at two cinemas in Kathmandu — Ranjana Cineplex in New Road and BSR Movies in Gongabu.
The film was released on Falgun 14 (Shivaratri) and became the first Nepali film after Purna Bahadurko Sarangi (released on Kartik 15 last year) to mark 101 days of screening.
The cast includes Sitaram Kattel, Vijay Baral, Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, Mukunda Shrestha, Vijay Lama, Renunath Yogi, Sagar Lamsal, Hari Niraula, Arjun Ghimire, Kamalmani Nepal, Priyana Acharya, Dayahang Rai, and Buddhi Tamang. Director Kumar Kattel also appears in a special role.
Produced under the banner of JPT Creation, the film’s co-producers are Ram Naresh Shah and Sirjana Khadka.
Encouraged by the audience’s love for his debut film, Shrestha announced plans for a new film titled Panch Pandav, to be directed by Basanta Niraula with a screenplay by Sushil Paudel. Filming is expected to begin around Bhadra.
He also confirmed that Laaj Sharanam 2 is currently in development.
