Krisha’s New Film ‘Jahajai Ma’ to Tell the Story of Dreamers Bound for Japan

The title of director Krisha Chaulagain’s upcoming film has been officially announced. A few days ago, Krisha traveled to Japan and signed a film under the banner of UNA Production.

The film is titled Jahajai Ma. The released theme poster shows a man carrying luggage, seemingly heading to board a plane. The story revolves around the dreams of young Nepalis aspiring to go to Japan.

The cast lineup for the film, which is being produced by Ujjwal Guragain, has not yet been disclosed. However, it has been confirmed that the cinematography will be done by Purushottam Pradhan.

The film is scheduled for release in 2026, with filming set to begin in Bhadra (late August/early September). Shooting locations will include Nepal, Japan, and the Philippines.

Following the recognition she gained from her film Pitambar, Krisha is now involved in two new projects. She has already announced that she will begin working on Pitambar 2 after Jahajai Ma.

UNA Entertainment, which has been distributing films in Japan, is now venturing into production under the banner of UNA Production with this film. It will feature actors from both Nepal and Japan.

Filming in Japan is expected to last about a month. Krisha is currently busy with the film’s pre-production phase.
