Actor Prakash Saput has officially joined the cast of the upcoming film MirMire. Following veteran actor Dayahang Rai, Prakash is the next confirmed addition to the film.
Prakash, one of today’s most admired performers, will be collaborating with Dayahang for the first time through MirMire.
Details about the remaining cast have not yet been disclosed. “We are in the process of finalizing agreements with other actors. Some discussions are ongoing,” said director Yam Sherpa. “We aim to work with artists who are both popular in the market and strong in performance.”
It is yet to be clarified whether Prakash will contribute solely as an actor or also be involved musically in the film. “We’ll confirm that later,” Yam added.
He reiterated that no compromises will be made in making the film high-quality. MirMire will be Yam Sherpa’s second directorial venture.
Known for the film Karsang, Yam noted that both the cast and technical aspects of MirMire will be strong.
Actor Prakash Saput expressed happiness about joining the film, describing his role as special and significant. He shared his belief that MirMire will take his career to new heights.
Presented by Yarsa Films, the film tells a social story rooted in rural life. Both the story and direction are handled by Yam Sherpa himself.
The producers are Nimu Sherpa, Chongba Lama Sherpa, and Angchiring Sherpa. Co-producers include Govinda Bohora and Ishwar Shrestha, with Rohit Kattel — also the head of RR Films — serving as the executive producer and distributor.
MirMire is set for release in 2082 BS (2025–2026 AD), although an exact date has yet to be announced. RR Films will handle distribution.
