‘Mahabhoj’ Heads to Australia and South Korea, Ongoing Run in Japan

The Nepali film Mahabhoj, which has received widespread praise from audiences in Nepal, is now preparing to make its mark in international markets. The film will be screened in various cities in Australia and South Korea, while its screening in Japan is already underway. In Korea, it is being distributed by Himalayan K-Vibes Entertainment, and in Japan by Seven Samurai Entertainment.

Mahabhoj had its Australian premiere on Saturday, June 1, in Perth. The Australian distributor, Roteping Entertainment, has scheduled screenings in Canberra on June 19 and 22, and in Brisbane on June 21 and 22. Screenings in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Tasmania are also being planned, with dates to be announced soon.

Directed by Dinesh Raut, Mahabhoj portrays the emotional story of families affected by cooperative fraud. The film presents the societal impact of such fraud and how it touches every individual, blending both emotional depth and entertainment.

The film stars Dayahang Rai, Aryan Sigdel, Khagendra Lamichhane, Anjana Baraili, Malika Mahat, Gaumaya Gurung, Basundhara Bhusal, and Mohan Niraula in powerful performances. A joint presentation of Clock Work Creation and Picture Frame, the film is produced by Himal Kadelia.

Released in Nepal last Friday, Mahabhoj has garnered excellent responses across the country, further fueling enthusiasm for its international screenings.
