Director Sudarshan Thapa is set to produce and direct the film Shubha Bibaha starring Pradeep Khadka. While registering the film’s name at the Film Development Board, Pradeep Khadka was listed as the lead actor.
A decade ago, director Thapa and actor Khadka collaborated on Prem Geet, and Shubha Bibaha marks their second project together. Although they had signed a written agreement last year, the film’s title had not been publicly disclosed until now.
Director Thapa recalls his successful collaboration with Pradeep in Prem Geet. He shared that the film helped many artists and technicians rise in their careers, including today’s leading star, Pradeep Khadka.
Indeed, Prem Geet is considered a landmark romantic film. It resonated with audiences from all walks of life. Now, Thapa and Khadka face the challenge of surpassing the success of Prem Geet with Shubha Bibaha. Thapa is well-regarded for directing romantic films, while Khadka is highly appreciated for portraying ‘lover boy’ roles.
The upcoming film Shubha Bibaha is also a romantic, family-oriented film. According to director Thapa, it will embrace societal values and depict the significance of marriage through the lens of Nepali religion and culture.
The lead actress for the film has yet to be finalized. Sources say that casting and crew selection will be completed soon, with filming scheduled to begin shortly.
Thapa’s previous successful romantic films include Mero Euta Saathi Chha, Prem Geet, and Ma Yesto Geet Gauchu.
