he psychological thriller film “The Blue Light” has completed its filming (end clap). Shooting began on Jeth 22 and was completed in 25 days across various locations within the Kathmandu Valley.
Directed by Baliram Chauhan, The Blue Light marks his directorial debut. Chauhan previously worked as the writer and chief assistant director of the much-anticipated film Balidan.
Presented by Skyfall Pictures, the lead cast of The Blue Light includes Benisha Hamal, Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, Ayushman Deshraj Joshi, Shristi Shrestha, and Suraksha Poudel Itani. Child actors Grishma Katuwal and Sahara Sharma also feature in the film.
The film’s theme poster and first-look poster have already been released. In the theme poster, a young girl stands amidst a blue-tinted atmosphere, with only her upper body visible. Her messy hair and disturbed expression hint at the film’s mysterious and psychological tone.
Another poster released during the shoot features lead actress Benisha Hamal sitting in a bar, appearing tense with a cigarette pinched between her fingers.
The production team has not yet revealed the characters or plot details. Director Chauhan mentioned that these will be unveiled gradually.
“We succeeded in creating what we set out to make. Now, the post-production phase begins,” said Chauhan. “The actors brought the story to life, and we are very excited. We’re confident the audience will experience a great film.”
Raman Gray serves as the co-producer, while cinematographer Narendra Mainali and actress Benisha Hamal are executive producers. The cinematography was done by Mainali himself.
The film’s chief assistant director is Akash Ukheda, with Reliza Shrestha as production designer and Dilip Pant as production controller.
Director Chauhan stated that The Blue Light will be released within 2025.
