Renowned singer Ramkrishna Dhakal, who is debuting as a producer, has signed actor Bijay Baral and actress Barsha Raut for his upcoming film Malati Mangale. The official agreement was signed with both actors on Friday.
To be produced under the banner of Rani Music International Pvt. Ltd., the film will be directed by Praku Pandey. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Sanyog Guragain, while the story is penned by director Pandey himself. Sagar Gyawali is the executive producer, and Mahesh Paudel will handle cinematography. Bijay Basyal will design the posters, Romi Tandukar will edit the film, with color grading by Krishna Bhandari, lyrics by Rajendra Thapa, and music composed by Rajanraj Siwakoti.
According to director Pandey, Malati Mangale is a family-oriented love story. He mentioned that detailed information about the roles of Vijay Baral and Barsha Raut will be revealed later.
Notably, both actors have decided not to commit to any other projects for about three months so they can fully immerse themselves in their characters.
The shooting is scheduled to begin in the first week of Bhadra (August/September) and is expected to be completed in around 40 days, said executive producer Gyawali. The film is targeted for release towards the end of this year.
Producer Ramkrishna Dhakal is a legendary singer with over 4,000 recorded Nepali songs. He has a long-standing relationship with Nepali cinema. He previously acted in the 2001 film Ashirbad, which was produced by his guardian Gopal Karmaacharya. With Malati Mangale, he is stepping into the role of producer for the first time.
