Artists Celebrate Rice Planting Festival Organized by Rastriya Lok Sancharakarmi Nepal

 On the occasion of the 22nd National Paddy Day, Rastriya Lok Sancharakarmi Nepal successfully organized a vibrant rice planting festival in Shibachowk, Ward 7 of Gokarneshwar. The event featured the active participation of various renowned artists in both cultural performances and traditional rice planting.

The program began with cultural performances by participating artists, who then joined local farmers in planting paddy in the field.

Addressing the event, Gokarneshwar Municipality Mayor Deepak Kumar Risal expressed gratitude towards Rastriya Lok Sancharakarmi Nepal for its efforts in preserving Nepali culture and identity. He also emphasized the importance of collective contribution to make Nepal self-reliant in agriculture.

Notable attendees included veteran singer, composer, and director Narayan Rayamajhi; singers Badri Pangeni, Navin Paudel, Manju Paudel; artist Saroj Lamichhane; President of the Lok and Dohori Song Association Rita Thapa Magar; model Eliza Gautam; Sanju Neupane; and child singer Ayusha Gautam, among others.

During the event, folk song experts Shivanarayan Joshi and Narayan Rayamajhi were honored for their contributions to traditional “ghase geet” (grass-cutting songs).

Chairperson of Rastriya Lok Sancharakarmi Nepal, Chandramani Gautam, stated that the organization annually holds this festival on Asar 15 (National Paddy Day) to promote agricultural self-reliance. He added that the institution gives special priority to programs that reflect authentic Nepali culture and traditions.
