Anjana Pun will play the lead actress in the film ‘Yani Maya’. Active in the modeling field for over a decade, she is making her acting debut through this film. This is the first project actor Pal Shah is producing under his banner ‘Pal Shah Films’.
Anjana Pun is an established model. She has won titles such as ‘Miss Magar Hong Kong 2014’ and ‘Miss Hong Kong Nepal 2023’. In the 2024 ‘Miss Nepal’ pageant, she received the ‘Miss Real Popular Choice’ and ‘Miss Delightful Happy Intelligence’ awards. Along with modeling, she has also been active in acting. She has appeared in music videos such as ‘Badhai Timilai’, ‘Na Chhoera Yauwan Katyo’, ‘Mayalai Pako Paat’, ‘Aago Lagyo’, ‘100% Sahi Ho’, and ‘Ankhaile Bolna’. She has also worked with Pal Shah in some of these videos. Anjana Pun is also a brand ambassador for the Cancer Relief Foundation.
Written and directed by Bikas Subedi, the film will blend philosophical metamodern cinema with family drama. It will explore themes such as intergenerational conflict, the tension between tradition and modernity, and the struggle between urban life and nature. Filming is scheduled for the Nepali month of Shrawan, with scenic locations selected in Dhorpatan of Baglung and Hong Kong.
For Pal Shah, this marks his first step into film production, while for Bikas Subedi, it is his debut as a director transitioning from a writer. Along with Pal Shah, Chandrajyoti Ale will also serve as a producer of the film.
