The workshop for the film Mirmire has begun. The film, starring Dayahang Rai and Prakash Saput in lead roles, officially kicked off its workshop on Sunday.

Director Yam Sherpa informed that the workshop has started with the main cast. “To make the shooting process smoother, and to build better understanding of the story, characters, and among the actors, we have started the workshop,” said Sherpa. “This will help us complete the filming more efficiently.”

The workshop is being held at the Kantipur Film Academy, and the shooting for Mirmire will commence this Friday. Most of the filming will take place in Kavre.

This marks the first on-screen collaboration between Prakash Saput and Dayahang Rai. Yam is working with Dayahang for the second time—he had previously directed Karsang, which also featured Dayahang.

Presented by Yarsa Films, the movie also stars actress Sirjana Ninglekhu and actor Mao Tse Gurung alongside the lead actors.

Director Yam Sherpa has also written the story of Mirmire, although he has chosen not to reveal details about the plot yet.

Producers of the film include Nimu Sherpa, Chongba Lama Sherpa, and Angchiring Sherpa. Co-producers are Govinda Bohora, Sudip Kunwar, and Ishwar Shrestha. The executive producer is Rohit Kattel, a film distributor and managing director of RR Films.

Mirmire is set to release in 2082 BS, though the exact date has not yet been finalized. The film will be distributed by RR Films.
