The Government of Nepal has officially declared Asoj 15 (October 1st) as National Film Day, to be observed every year. This decision was made during the Cabinet meeting held on Asar 13 (June 27).
The announcement was formally made today on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Nepal Film Development Board.
Previously, Asoj 1 (mid-September) was considered the date for National Film Day, but based on the recommendation of the Film Development Board, the Cabinet has now designated Asoj 15 as the official date for its annual celebration.
