Dayahang in Maotse Gurung’s ‘Pensionpatta’, Tells The story of a Greedy Man

Actor turned Director MaoTse Gurung has cast Dayahang Rai in his second directorial film Pensionpatta. This marks their second collaboration, following Gurung’s debut directorial Dayarani, in which Dayahang played the lead role.

Director Gurung shared that this second collaboration will move forward in a more refined manner, aiming to present another remarkable film to audiences. While the title Pensionpatta may hint at the story of a retired British Gurkha, Gurung revealed that the film actually tells the story of how a greedy man transforms into a generous one.

The film, produced under the banner of Mao Tse Gurung Films, is also written by Gurung himself. According to production manager D.B. Gurung, apart from Dayahang, the remaining cast will be announced soon. The entire shoot will take place in and around Pokhara in the Kaski district. The film’s casting director is Suraj Tamang, and cinematography will be handled by Sushan Prajapati.

Gurung’s debut directorial was a box office success. Widely regarded as a top character actor, he has recently become active in writing and directing as well. He has previously directed films in the Gurung language. Mao Tse Gurung is not only an actor and director but also a producer.
