The shooting of the Nepali film MirMire has officially begun. After a week-long workshop, the production team left Kathmandu on Friday to commence filming.
The shoot officially kicked off today (Saturday), with a camera worship ceremony held at Shree Ladkeshwar Basic School premises in Balthali, Ward No. 11 of Panauti Municipality.
“Shooting for MirMire has begun in Kavrepalanchok. It will continue for about 35 days,” said director Yam Sherpa. According to him, most of the film will be shot in various locations across Kavre.
Presented by Yarsa Films, the movie features Dayahang Rai, Prakash Saput, and Sirjana Ninglekhu in lead roles. Other cast members include Mao Tse Gurung, Chhulthim Gurung, and Bholaraj Sapkota.
Child actors Shaisa Gauchan, Divisha Pant, Chirag Shrestha, and Namanraj Gajurel are also part of the cast.
This marks the first collaboration between Prakash Saput and Dayahang Rai. For director Yam Sherpa, it’s the second time working with Dayahang; he previously directed him in his debut film Karsang.
The production team has kept the storyline of MirMire under wraps. Both the story and direction are by Yam Sherpa. The cinematography is handled by Alok Shukla.
The producers of MirMire are Nimu Sherpa, Chongba Lama Sherpa, and Angchhiring Sherpa. The co-producers are Govinda Bohora, Sudip Kunwar, and Ishwar Shrestha. Rohit Kattel, a film distributor and operator of RR Films, serves as the executive producer.
