Director Saroj Paudel’s new film ‘Koshe Dhunga’ has completed its shooting. The famed director of the all-time blockbuster film ‘Purna Bahadurko Sarangi’, Paudel, finished filming in 51 days on Monday.
The shooting was completed over 51 days including song sequences filmed in Makwanpur’s Chitlang, Markhul, and other locations. Earlier, shooting began at a set in Chyasal, Lalitpur, and continued in Syangja’s Adhikola, Triveni, and Siruwari areas in Gandaki Province.
The production team has announced the release date. The film ‘Koshe Dhunga’ is set to release on Bhadra 12 (around late August/early September) and will premiere simultaneously in over 40 countries including Nepal.
The film will be distributed internationally by Seven Seas International, led by Patrick Subedi and Ramesh Dhakal. It is the first time in Nepali film history that a film will be released simultaneously in 40 countries in the diaspora.
With such a wide international release, the production team expects ‘Koshe Dhunga’ to raise the profile of Nepali cinema to a new global level.
Having the director of ‘Purna Bahadurko Sarangi’, which grossed over NPR 475 million in Nepal alone, has made ‘Koshe Dhunga’ a highly anticipated film. Many are curious to see how this new film will turn out.
Since the announcement of the project, audience interest and expectations have grown. During the shooting, the production released a first look poster featuring the lead actress Surakshya Pant.
“We have filmed as expected and it is turning out better than we thought. Judging from the work done so far, we are confident the output will be excellent,” Paudel said. “Online editing is being done on set itself, and seeing the hard work of all artists and technicians, we can say that the audience will get something special.”
Executive producer Dinesh Khadka said the film will meet audience expectations and will be as well-loved as ‘Purna Bahadurko Sarangi’.
He is confident that the effort put into the story and filming will not disappoint viewers.
Presented by Nardevi Films, ‘Koshe Dhunga’ features performances by Surakshya Pant, Aryan Sikdel, Richa Sharma, Manzil Kumar, Niti Shah, Pravin Khatiwada, Hiwala Gautam, Saroj Khanal, Vishal Pahadi, Dinesh Kafle, Lokmani Sapkota, among others.
The producers are Previl Kandel and Kishor Anurag. Dinesh Khadka is the executive producer. The cinematography is by Babu Shrestha, editing by Nahakul Khadka, and music by Ashish Aviral and Ridam Kandel. Casting director is Suvalmani Sapkota.
