A new Nepali film titled ‘Munamadan Ko Breakup’ has officially been announced. The film will be directed by Dipendra Lama, with the screenplay penned by Samipyaraj Timalsena and Shridhar Paudel onboard as executive producer.

The trio—Lama, Timalsena, and Paudel—who share a journalistic background, previously collaborated on the 2018 film ‘Gopi’. This project marks their first reunion since then.

So far, Raj Katwal is the only actor confirmed for the cast. Katwal was last seen in the film ‘Narsingha Avatar’. According to director Lama, casting discussions are ongoing and will be finalized soon. “We signed Katwal because he perfectly fits the character. The rest of the cast will also be chosen to match the story and roles,” Lama said.

Having directed six films including ‘Ghampani’ and ‘Dukhi Atma’, Lama aims to make ‘Munamadan Ko Breakup’ an engaging and entertaining film.

Screenwriter Timalsena shared that the story will offer a distinct love narrative set in a rural backdrop. “Unlike typical love stories seen in recent Nepali films, this one brings a unique flavor,” he stated. “It’s difficult to draw audiences to theaters nowadays, so we’re putting extra effort into the script.”

Lead actor Raj Katwal expressed his excitement about the role. “I’m pushing myself to appear more refined than in my previous roles,” he said. “This role is both challenging and rewarding.”

Executive producer Shridhar Paudel confirmed that the film will be shot in rural areas of Kaski district. “We’ll begin filming only after the script and pre-production are fully polished,” he said. “Our goal is to deliver a high-quality product through patience and precision.”
