Actress Diya Pun has officially been signed for the film Maijharo, which will be directed by actor and filmmaker Wilson Bikram Rai (Takme Budha). The production team formally brought her on board this Saturday.
Earlier, actors Dhiraj Magar and Miruna Magar had already been confirmed for the film. With Diya now joining as one of the lead characters, the cast list has expanded. Director Rai stated, “We signed Diya as per the demand of the story. Other cast members are still being finalized.”
Aside from Dhiraj, Miruna, and Diya, the names of additional cast members have not yet been revealed, according to the production team. The full cast is expected to be confirmed within a few days. Maijharo, produced under the banner of Takme Production, carries a story based on the lifestyle, culture, and social realities of Eastern Nepal’s hilly regions. Filming is set to begin in the first week of Shrawan (mid-July) in scenic locations of Ilam and Panchthar.
The music for the film will be composed by Anmol Gurung and Toremba Hang Rai. Singers Rajesh Payal Rai, Asmita Adhikari, Jhuma Limbu, and Anmol Gurung will lend their voices to the soundtrack. Saurabh Lama will handle the cinematography.
According to director Rai, Maijharo marks his debut as both a writer and director. Until now, Takme Production had only been producing comedy and musical content. With Maijharo, the company is stepping into the world of feature films on the big screen.
