The grand finale of Nepal’s first and biggest modeling reality show, The Face Nepal Volume 5, will feature a competition among eight contestants. Organized by You Can Fly Modeling Agency, the finalists are Elina Chaudhary, Allen Thapa, Ganesh Kshetri, Irban Veer Singh Kanshakar, Prashna Shrestha, Pratishtha Rijal, Trisha Chemjong, and Josh Garrett.

The company’s Managing Director, Swikriti Pyakurel, stated that the show was organized to provide a platform for models in Nepal, who have not been getting adequate exposure. Swikriti herself has been active in the modeling industry for the past 10 years.

“During my 10 years in modeling, we had to work hard to gain exposure. But today’s aspiring models expect immediate exposure as soon as they enter the field, which is why we created this reality show,” she said. “Although modeling events are held in Nepal, they haven’t been able to create the desired hype with consistency. So, we want to open the door of opportunities for them.”

Swikriti also explained that since the finalists have a good fan following, the show aims to highlight their inner talents.

Agency founder Samshad Shah remarked that because modeling is not widely accepted as a viable career in Nepal, many youths are heading abroad. Through this show, he hopes to demonstrate that there are opportunities to work within Nepal.

This season had 18 participants. Contestants were gradually eliminated in each episode, narrowing down to 8 for the finale. The grand finale will be held this coming Thursday at Hotel Soaltee.

The winner of the competition will receive the title of The Face Nepal brand ambassador, along with gifts worth NPR 700,000, opportunities in music videos, modeling in advertisements, and other prizes.
