Hotel Smart Opens in Kathmandu with Star-Studded Inauguration and World-Class Facilities

Hotel Smart has officially opened at Dhumbarahi Chowk in Kathmandu, offering a wide range of services and facilities.

On Monday evening, the grand opening was attended by legendary actor Rajesh Hamal along with a host of popular celebrities.

Hamal inaugurated the hotel by lighting a traditional lamp (panas) and cutting the ribbon at the main entrance. Singer Pramod Kharel inaugurated the secondary entrance, journalist Prakash Subedi opened the café, singers Milan Newar and Melina Rai unveiled the wellness center, The Voice of Nepal director Laxman Paudel inaugurated the Thakali section, and journalist Sushil Nepal launched the rooftop bar.

“If you like this hotel, you’ll probably like my house too—because the same people who built this hotel also built my new home,” Rajesh Hamal remarked during the ceremony. Hamal has been living in his new residence in Budhanilkantha since the first of Baisakh (mid-April).

Likewise, journalist Prakash Subedi praised the hotel’s strategic location on the main highway and its comprehensive facilities.
Singer Pramod Kharel, along with Melina Rai and Milan Newar, said the hotel is ideally located for refreshment, being close to The Voice studio.

Built at a cost of approximately NPR 400 million, Hotel Smart features 17 rooms, a banquet hall with 600-person capacity, a 100-seat restaurant, a café, a Thakali restaurant, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, rooftop garden, and rooftop restaurant.

The hotel is operated by 35-year-old entrepreneur Suresh Karki and his team.
During the opening, Karki stated, “This hotel is designed for customers from all walks of life, offering multiple services under one roof with a customer-friendly environment.”
