Filming of Nepali Movie ‘Maijharo’ Officially Begins in Ilam

The filming of the Nepali movie ‘Maijharo’ officially began on 1st of Shrawn (July 2025) in the eastern hilly district of Ilam. Actor Wilson Vikram Rai, popularly known as ‘Takme Budha’, is making his directorial debut with this film.

The shooting of ‘Maijharo’ will take place in various locations in Ilam and Panchthar districts. Director Rai stated that the film is based on the lifestyle, culture, and social realities of the eastern hills of Nepal. Rai has written the story, screenplay, and directed the film himself.

The movie features a talented cast including Dhiraj Magar, Miruna Magar, Diya Pun, Sunil Thapa, Kavita Ale, Puskar Gurung, Abhayraj Baral, Uday Subba, Buddhi Tamang, Rajani Gurung, Vishal Limbu, and Subhash Singh Thakuri among others.

The film’s music will be composed by Anmol Gurung and Torempa Hang Rai, with vocals by Rajesh Payal Rai, Asmita Adhikari, Jhuma Limbu, Anmol Gurung, and others. Cinematography is handled by Sourabh Lama.

‘Takme Production’ is producing this film under its banner, marking its first feature film. Previously, the company has only produced comedy and musical content. With ‘Maijharo’, the company is venturing into feature film production.
