Chhaya Chhabi Creation has announced the 12th edition of the Chhaya Chhabi Teej Music Awards, an annual event organized to celebrate Nepal’s traditional Teej festival through music.
According to the organization’s chairman, Shantipriya, the awards aim to recognize and encourage creators of Teej songs, with 25 different award categories being presented this year.
Teej is a major festival for Hindu women in Nepal, traditionally marked by songs that express personal emotions, sorrows, and joy. While earlier Teej songs mostly portrayed the pain of married women living away from their maternal homes, modern Teej music has evolved in both theme and style. Today, even male singers actively participate in Teej duet songs.
Song registration is open throughout the Nepali month of Shrawan. Interested artists can register their Teej songs either by visiting the Chhaya Chhabi office in Dillibazar or by sending them via email.
